We've compiled a list of answers to our most frequently asked questions.  If the answer you require is not here, please get in touch!


Q. How long does a party last?

A. Our standard gaming party lasts for 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes. Karaoke parties have a duration of 60 minutes. For events we offer longer durations and a mix of gaming/ karaoke is also possible (although not at the same time!). To enquire as to how we can tailor a booking to suit your needs, please get in touch to discuss options.


Q. What areas do you cover?

A. The Truck is available to most of Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. If you are located close to but just outside of these areas, please get in touch to discuss.


Q. How much do you charge?

A. Prices and more information can be found above, and on the 'Gaming Party' and 'Karaoke Party' pages.


Q. How do I Book?

A. Bookings should be made as far in advance wherever possible. Simply fill in our online booking form and one of the team will call or email you back to confirm availability. We require a minimum deposit of 50% of the total cost within 48 hours of the booking.


Q. Can I get a refund if I cancel?

A. Yes, we will refund the full deposit amount if you cancel with at least 28 days notice of the party date.


 Q. What happens if TechTruck is late or cancels my party?

A. We will always do our best to make sure we arrive on time for your party. If due to situations beyond our control we are late or we have to cancel, we will let you know as far in advance as possible. In this case we will offer either time added to the end of your party, a full refund or a discounted price for re-arranging the day or time of your party.  


  Q. How much space does the truck take up?

A. The Truck measures 7x2 metres and can fit on most large driveways or can be parked on the road outside your home (subject to parking restrictions). The truck requires a space the size of two cars parked end to end (7 Metres). It is your responsibility to make sure there is enough room for the truck on the day of the party. No refund will be offered if a party cannot go ahead due to insufficient space.


Q. Does the truck have its own power?

A. No. The truck needs to use a standard plug socket from your home or party premises. We have a 40m power extension but this cannot be laid across a road.


  Q. Is there an age restriction?

A.  To get the most from the TechTruck, we recommend that the players be 7 years of age or older. We can accommodate younger guests in small numbers on request, however the minimum age for a birthday child when inviting classmates, is children turning 7.


Q. My child has a PlayStation- will this be suitable?

A. Yes! In fact, most TT parties have at least one or two guests who use a PS console at home. In the truck, children don’t require any console specific experience as they do not set up games or operate the console menus, this all done by the host. The only difference between Xbox and PlayStation is the shape of the controller and the symbols on the buttons. The functions are all the same, as are the games and the way they work. We have hosted parties for plenty of children who have PS consoles and there’s never been any issues.


Q. My child and their friends are inexperienced gamers. Will they still enjoy it?

A. There will always be a member of the TechTruck Crew on hand to help. Most games children pick up really quickly and they will definitely still enjoy a TechTruck party regardless of ability.


Q. Do you supply food?

A. No we don’t provide food. Most TechTruck parties are located at the home of the birthday child, however we are happy to attend any pre-arranged location such as local restaurants, pubs, social/sports clubs, community centres and scout huts. Due to health & safety and for hygiene reasons, no food or drink is permitted inside the truck.


Q. Do you supply party invitations?

A. Yes. You can download and print them from our website, please find the links on our 'BOOK THE TRUCK!' page.


Q. Is the TechTruck safe?

A. Absolutely. The TechTruck remains stationary for the entire duration of the party and the party guests will be fully supervised whilst inside the truck by a member of the team.


Q. Can the outside screen be used during my booking?

A. Weather and space permitting, yes. Unfortunately the outside screen can only be used in good weather. This includes the awning, which can only be used on a calm day. The awning cannot be used if there are any winds. Due to the unpredictability of the great British weather, the outside screen cannot be guaranteed but is offered for use at all parties should the conditions allow.
